This 49 x 60.5 inch quilt is built around an impressionistic printed panel, which evokes a spring garden. The panel is bordered with one-inch strip of ombre batik in purple, then surrounded with a 6-inch border pieced of 2-inch blocks in coordinating fabrics. Finally, there is another ombre purple border. The double-fold French binding is a bias strip, sewn on by machine and finished with a sturdy hand stitch. The quilt is backed in a hot-pink flannel fabric and a purple, blue, and pink pansy print flannel.
The computerized quilting was done by my local quilt shop in Boise, The Quilt Crossing. I chose a pattern that suggests movement across water.
The quilt is washable in cold water on the gentlest cycle using soap, not detergent. Rinse twice. Can be tumble dried on low or laid flat to dry. Slight shrinkage is expected with tumble drying. All the fabrics and batting are 100% cotton.
